Who is Frances Ford Seymour?
Socialite Frances Ford Seymour Fonda was Canadian-American. She was the mother of actors Jane Fonda and Peter Fonda and the second wife of actor Henry Fonda.
She was raised in an upper-middle-class home and was born in Ontario, Canada. She had struggled as a child ever since she could remember. Daughter Jane Fonda claims that Frances suffered from mental health problems in the past as a result of the repeated incidents of sexual assault she had as a child.
George Tuttle Brokaw, a multimillionaire attorney and athlete, was Frances’ first husband. There was a kid. She encountered Henry Fonda and fell in love with him after he passed away. They were married and had two kids together, who both went on to have incredibly successful acting careers.
Their marriage hit a hard point in the late 1940s. In April 1950, after being confined to a mental health facility, she murdered herself by slitting her own throat with a razor.

On January 10, 1931, Frances and George Tuttle Brokaw got married. George was an American businessman and lawyer who had inherited a sizable sum of money from his successful businessman father. He had been married before. His prior union produced one daughter. George and Frances had a quiet wedding in New York.
Frances de Villers Brokaw, their daughter, was born the same year they were married. George suffered a severe heart attack and died in 1935.
At that point, Henry Fonda was a great celebrity. He first encountered Frances when filming the first English “Technicolor” movie, titled “Wings of the Morning,” at London’s “Denham Studios.” Soon after, they started dating. A year after the passing of her first husband, Frances wed Henry in New York City on September 16, 1936.
Frances gave birth to Jane Fonda, their first child together, in December 1937. Son Peter Fonda was the couple’s second child, born in 1940. Later, both of their kids rose to fame as performers.
The accounts claim that her marriage to Henry was never a joyful one. Frances had a lot of emotional baggage from her difficult upbringing. She also experienced mental illnesses like depression and bipolar disorder. Henry was a major Hollywood celebrity, so juggling his family and business was not simple for him.

Henry Fonda was a notorious womanizer. He did not adore Frances deeply enough to proceed with the wedding. Even his children were of little concern to him. He informed Frances of his desire for a divorce in 1949.
Already experiencing emotional distress, Frances. She did not, therefore, accept the news graciously. She went bonkers. In order to receive treatment for her psychological issues, she was eventually taken to the “Austen Riggs Psychiatric Hospital” in January 1950.
A few days after turning 42 on April 14, she killed herself by using a razor blade to slit her own throat. She wrote six notes to various people just before she took her own life, but none were addressed to her husband, Henry.
Henry organized the funeral right away after she passed away, and just he and his mother-in-law attended. Later, Frances’ psychiatrist disclosed that Henry was a chilly, narcissistic individual who had driven Frances to her mental collapse.
The news that their mother had died of a heart attack was relayed to the kids. Through a magazine her friend showed her, Jane learned of her mother’s suicide.
A year later, Fonda wed his mistress.
